What is the difference between Area League and Power League?

Area League teams typically practice and play locally, therefore requiring less of a time commitment and are financially less expensive. Area League players are usually multiple sport athletes and/or have a high focus on academics, therefore do not have the time to commit to a Power team. Club Shoreline Volleyball offers a high level of coaching/training and is considered one of the more competitive clubs competing in the NCVA Area League tournaments.

Power League teams require more of a commitment and are financially more expensive. They play in the NCVA Power League and National tournaments which require more travel including flying out of state and overnight hotel stays. Winning is typically a high priority and play time at tournaments is not guaranteed.

Club Shoreline Volleyball defines their club as more of a “hybrid” between Area and Power League. Our tournament schedule includes Area League, special weekend, beach and non–league tournaments.

What training and/or experience does your coaching staff have?

Club Shoreline Volleyball’s coaching staff all have prior coaching experience and have or currently are competing in volleyball either indoor or on the beach. We have a training program that all of our coaches complete prior to our season starting. They participate in Positive Coaching Alliance training and are CPR certified. Sissy Nilssen, Club Director, oversees the training program with the coaching staff.
